Our story

Built from the field up.

Krishi Best Seeds grew from an agrarian family with decades of experience in vegetable cultivation. Founded by Vineet Gupta, the company was built around a practical observation: better farm outcomes begin long before harvest — with the choice of genetics, the growing environment and the decisions made through the crop cycle.

Today, KBS develops and markets hybrid vegetable seeds across a broad crop portfolio and delivers polyhouse solutions for farmers, institutions and larger agricultural programmes.

Our work starts with the realities of the Indian field: changing seasons, disease pressure, water efficiency, market timing and the need for produce that is consistent enough to sell well.

F1 hybrid vegetable seeds are developed by crossing carefully selected parent lines to combine useful traits in the first generation. For a commercial grower, the value is not the word "hybrid" itself — it is what the right genetics can deliver in the field.

More productive plants

Hybrid breeding is widely used to combine vigour with desirable crop traits. With the right variety, season and crop management, that can translate into stronger yield potential from the same cultivated area.

A crop that comes together

More consistent plant habit, fruit size, colour and maturity can make harvesting, grading, packing and selling more predictable.

Better protection starts in the genetics

Selected hybrids can carry resistance or tolerance traits for specific crop challenges, helping reduce exposure to avoidable crop loss. Resistance is stated variety by variety — never as a blanket promise.

A polyhouse does not remove farming risk. It gives the grower more control over the growing environment. The commercial value comes from protecting the crop, extending production windows and producing more consistent quality.

An MBA in Finance with 15+ years of experience in food and agriculture, Vineet Gupta has built Krishi Best Seeds on a simple idea: better agricultural inputs should lead to higher productivity, greater reliability and better farmer incomes.

His work combines seed expertise, polyhouse technology, agricultural infrastructure and rural development — with a strong focus on solutions that work on the ground, not just on paper.
